At the Audiology Center, we believe that an educated patient is our best patient. Our goal is to teach our patients as much as we can about hearing loss. This involves not only understanding the different types of hearing loss but also knowing the different options available for treatment, the advantages and disadvantages of various technologies, and most importantly, how to preserve your remaining hearing.

Our Virtual Consumer Seminar on Hearing Loss is an excellent tool for teaching the basics of hearing loss. It will also describe the most recent advancements in hearing aids and realistic expectations for benefit. It will only take a few minutes to complete the seminar and you will find the time was well spent!
The Better Hearing Institute (BHI) is a not-for-profit corporation that educates the public about the neglected problem of hearing loss and what can be done about it. The (BHI) was founded in 1973 with the goals of:

  • Erasing the stigma and ending the embarrassment that prevents millions of people from seeking help for hearing loss.
  • Showing the negative consequences of untreated hearing loss for millions of Americans.
  • Promoting treatment and demonstrating that hearing loss is a national problem that can be solved.

Call our office and we will send you a FREE copy of "The Guide to Better Hearing" from the Better Hearing Institute. This 30 page booklet describes not only hearing loss and treatment but also the impact of hearing loss on the quality of life and why some resist help. You will find this is a valuable resource and we will be happy to send it to you.

After completing the Virtual Consumer Seminar and reading "The Guide to Better Hearing", I am sure you will have questions. Call our office to schedule a time that we can talk about what you have learned and answer questions that you may have. We will test your hearing and look at the options that are most appropriate for you and your needs.

I look forward to talking with you soon!
